We’re starting on the north end of the Boardwalk and are working our way south to give you highlights of all the 4th of July fun you can enjoy at this Grand Strand must-visit. Here are some of the top places to eat and explore on the Boardwalk this Independence Day:
Just north of Holiday Pavilion Resort on the Boardwalk, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk & Promenade starts at the 14 Avenue Pier. Here you will find Pier 14, one of our favorite restaurants on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk for the 4th of July or any other time. The pier is also home to a gift shop and tackle store. Grab a delectable bite, enjoy local live music, pick up a few souvenirs, or fish for a big catch! On the 4th of July, Pier 14 Restaurant & Lounge will be open for lunch and dinner, feature live entertainment by the house musician, and close at 9:30 p.m.
Past Pier 14 is one of the newest restaurants on the Boardwalk, RipTydz Oceanfront Grille & Rooftop Bar. RipTydz has a spacious dining area, an oceanfront deck, and a rooftop full of fun. The restaurant hosts weekly live music, corn hole tournaments, and more on their sandy front lawn. On the 4th of July, RipTydz will be open for lunch and dinner, closing at 11 p.m.

Want to make your ride really special? Hop on the SkyWheel during the fireworks show! The SkyWheel is open until midnight on the 4th of July.
Another great restaurant for 4th of July food is Landshark Bar & Grill, located adjacent to the SkyWheel on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Landshark is part of the Margaritaville family, so you are sure to find delicious margaritas in a relaxed atmosphere. Plyler Park is located along Mr. Joe White Avenue. This open-air green space is the perfect spot to watch Salute From the Shore, one of the top 4th of July events at Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and the surrounding area. Several military and vintage aircraft fly over the shore as beachgoers wave, salute, and proudly fly their American flags. Nearby, you’ll find Moe Moon’s, a relaxed beach bar grill and chill. The menu has been described as beachside burgers and beers, but it also offers delicious tacos and seafood. Moe Moon’s is best known for its FishBowl cocktails, which are served in a 64-ounce fishbowl! The restaurant will open for lunch and dinner on the 4th of July, closing at 11 p.m.
The legendary Gay Dolphin Gift Cove is just a few steps down from Moe Moon’s. The Gay Dolphin has been part of the Myrtle Beach community since the 1930s, providing locals and visitors with unique seaside gifts. Today, the shop sells souvenirs including shark’s teeth necklaces, seashell décor, and stylish beachwear. Stop by to experience a slice of Myrtle Beach history. As you continue your stroll down the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, there are two restaurants you won’t want to miss. Hurricane’s Daiquiri Bar & Grill boasts some of the best burgers and frozen daiquiris on the Boardwalk. Enjoy a Fruit Loop (red, white, and blue) daiquiri with a Hurricane burger while soaking in the cool beach vibes. Hurricane’s will be open for lunch and dinner on the 4th, closing at 10 p.m.
Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar & Grill is next, and it serves up fresh seafood, battered and fried to perfection. In the 1930s, two new eateries opened on 9th Avenue North: Ocean Front Tavern and Peaches Corner. Johnny Burroughs purchased both establishments in the 1940s, and the rest is history. After almost a century, Peaches Corner still serves some of the best hot dogs and chili in town from the corner of 9th Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard. Ocean Front Bar & Grill, formerly known as Ocean Front Tavern, proudly sits on the corner of 9th Avenue North and the Boardwalk, offering fresh seafood and ice-cold brews with an ocean view. On the 4th of July, you can grab a bite at Peaches until 12:30 a.m., and Ocean Front doesn’t stop serving until the doors close at 10 p.m.
Sandwiched between these two historic restaurants lies the infamous entertainment venue The Bowery, which opened in 1944. Best known for its 70s house band, Alabama, The Bowery still serves a side of live music with every drink. You never know what up-and-coming country star you’ll see on stage! Between 8th and 9th Avenues North on the Boardwalk is a green space known as the Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place.
