Say goodbye to Punxsutawney Phil and hello to Spring Events in Myrtle Beach for 2026. This season is blooming with can’t-miss festivals, lively celebrations, and family-friendly happenings up and down the Grand Strand. With average temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to the high 70s, spring provides the perfect backdrop for getting outside and joining the fun.
While Myrtle Beach is known for its championship golf courses and vibrant nightlife, spring reveals another side of the coast—one filled with community festivals, cultural experiences, and entertainment for every age and interest. From acclaimed film screenings to the world-famous Blue Crab Festival, there’s no shortage of ways to celebrate the season.
Here’s your guide to the best spring events happening in Myrtle Beach in 2026.
March marks the end of winter and the start of Myrtle Beach’s spring festival season. We don’t kick off anything slow here. March is filled with tons of events like the Myrtle Beach Marathon, the Run to the Sun Car and Truck Show, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
There’s nothing quite as invigorating as running next to the ocean or, at the very least, watching other people run. The race takes place on March 7 and has a full and half-marathon component. If you wish to participate, you do need to register and pay the appropriate fees. For spectators, however, if you’re staying at the Holiday Pavilion, all you need to do is stand near a seaside-facing window to cheer on the runners.
If running isn’t your thing, the Surfside BBQ Festival is also happening on March 7 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is free. There will be live music, activities for kids, and of course, a barbecue competition and food trucks! As the name suggests, the event will take place on Surfside Drive, which is about a 20-minute drive from the Holiday Pavilion Resort.
A tradition that’s been running for 37 years, the Run to the Sun Car and Truck Show runs from March 19 to 21. Only cars that are pre-1989 are allowed to be displayed, so you know there will be some real classics. Tickets are about $20 for an adult day pass, but kids under 12 get in for free. It takes place at the Old Myrtle Beach Mall Site, just a 30-minute walk or five-minute drive away.
St. Patrick’s Day is March 14, and from Ocean Boulevard, from 2nd Ave N to 1st Ave S. you can check out the parade that runs from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. There will be over 120 vendors, Irish pipe bands, and dancers. The main parade route is only a moderate walk or short drive away.
The fine weather continues to ramp up, so do the April events in Myrtle Beach, making it an excellent time to visit. Major highlights include the Food Truck & Music Festival, Socastee Heritage Festival, and a Dragonboat Festival.
Whether you’re craving Southern BBQ or a Philly Cheesesteak, you’ll be sure to find it at the Myrtle Beach Food Truck & Music Festival. This event will take place between April 10 and 12 and feature over 50 food trucks and live musical acts. All the food, fun, and excitement will take place at the Old Myrtle Beach Mall Site, which is just a stone’s throw away from the Holiday Pavilion Resort. Tickets will go on sale in March.
For those not in the know, Socastee comes from the indigenous name for the area. You can celebrate this heritage and history at the Socastee Heritage Festival that takes place on April 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Head on down to enjoy live music, explore some of the local landmarks like the Cooper House, and learn a little about the rich history of the area. If you’re interested, the Socastee Heritage Festival is on Dicks Pond Road, about a 20-minute drive away.
Cheering on ardent paddlers and drumming coxswains at the Ground Zero Dragon Boat Festival! Aside from the boat races, there will be food vendors, a live DJ, and a drummers’ costume contest. The main gathering will take place at the Grand Park at The Market Common, which is right by the SkyWheel. If you’re free on April 25 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., be sure to check out this fantastic way to close out the April Myrtle Beach spring festivals.
May might be the tail end of the season, but that doesn’t mean the spring events in Myrtle Beach lose any steam. There’s the weekly Groovin’ on the Green, Ocean Drive Music Festival, and last but certainly not least, the World Famous Blue Crab Festival!
If you’re looking for something free to do in the evenings, every Friday starting May 1, there will be a concert from local artists at the Town Green at 200 Laurel Street. The concerts run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and will feature a variety of artists. Many nearby bars, shops, and restaurants offer special discounts during the event. From the Holiday Pavilion Resort, it’s more or less a straight shot up the 501-S.
From May 8 to 17 is Myrtle Beach Bike Week. The mild spring weather is the ideal time to rev the engine and ride up the Grand Strand. Bikers heading up this week will be treated to Myrtle Beach’s fine lineup of bars, restaurants, and surf.
Between May 16 and 17, Little River, South Carolina, is hosting its 44th Blue Crab Festival. If you’re looking for something to do to recover from Mother’s Day, you ought to come down to enjoy live music, unique local crafts, and of course, blue crab. It’s just about a half-hour drive from the Holiday Pavilion Resort. Head on down to see why the blue crab helped shape the Carolina fishing industry.
